Our interactive artwork hosted by the Ramus designed monumental digital canvas at the Star Sydney evokes the qualities of impressionist paintings and was inspired by the majestic polar phenomena of the Southern Lights, known as an aurora. The artwork intuitively interacts with its environment and creates a tangible connection between visitors and the uniquely curved canvas.
The artwork has several interactive elements. The amount of people in the foyer affects the complexity of the particles displayed. When moving around the screen, brush-like particles follow patrons across the space. A similar effect is seen when patrons traverse either of the two escalators that flank the sides of the digital canvas. When a patron reaches the centre of the canvas, an enormous vortex spreads out from the middle across the whole image to create a monumental impression in the foyer space.
