Gravitational Grid explores the phenomenon of gravity as a governing force that binds existence throughout the universe. Gravity affects all things with mass or energy and brings them toward one another, it’s effect is responsible for the birth of galaxies and the perceptual relativity of time.
The monumental media sculpture uses multi-sensory mechanics to generate a continuum that reflects the intricacy of gravity’s effect on light and pervasive interconnection in our world and over our lives. This is unveiled through morphing suites of light and sound choreography that outline an evolving narrative that abstractly expresses the life cycle of stars.
In direct response to the recent darkness that distanced our social body and separated the globe, the work hopes to inspire an atmosphere of ceremony that reignites our collective imagination and offers to rebirth our shared bonds, bringing us together again, like gravity.
